I think the M400 has inputs for number of teeth and revolutions per km separate. It's been several years since I've used the software, but I remember it being in the sensor setup area of the...
We used a foot clutch for the five years I was in school, but the team decided to switch to a hand clutch in the years after I graduated. They are switching back to a foot clutch this year, but I'm...
See if this helps: http://www.motec.com/downloads/downloaddatasheets/
I believe that a third pedal is the way to go. Maybe I've lived a sheltered life, but I've never seen any other type of car with a hand operated clutch. I think that a foot clutch is more intuitive...
Battery voltage plays a pretty big part of injector dead time too. Whether this is built into the dead time setting as a table or if a basic dead time setting is compensated with another table based...
The thermostat begins opening at 180, but is not fully open until 190-195. Ours always ran right around 200F (except when we were having cooling problems, then it was higher).
I think we had ours on very low setting for both ref and sync when we ran the M4.
Try the low-level setting. Have you tried looking at the signals on an oscilloscope? The constant -1% makes me think it's not getting proper signal and the computer is never sync'ing
What mode do you have for the triggers? I think we had to use low level mag setting for the stock Honda sensors.
It's been a while, but I seem to remember the 11-14 being different combinations of rising and falling edge trigger settings for the cam and crank. Hit F1 and see if there is any additional help...
Clocking the cams would only be an issue if the gears were removed from the cams. It sounds like they are probably okay there.
How many teeth are on the crank trigger wheel, 12? If the TDC does...
PBnG, don't worry about being a goofball -- everything you wrote applies to the M4 the same as the M400.
Supra,
When you installed the camshafts, did you time it based on the lobes closest to the...
We ran a simple baffle system and custom oil pan on our wet-sump F4i. It did very well, with oil pressure drops barely noticeable on the data acquisition, where before, it would turn on the low oil...
The tips of our injectors were out of the flow stream, so we never noticed any build up on the tips. We never really worried about the sticky layer on the runners since it never got to be more than...
we always used plain old Castrol GTX 10W40 in our F4i (turbo E85). We did have the sticky residue build up on the intake runners as well.
What did you end up doing to get it running?
The cam sensor on the F4i is an inductive pickup. We never had any issues using the same setup with 2 ground off teeth. The bolts are out of the sensing range of the inductive pickup and shouldn't...
Go to the utilities menu and click on ref/sync capture. It's a built-in scope and should help you to verify the wave form and trigger levels. Activate the recorder while cranking the engine. If...
I always figured the alcohol compatibility thing was more whether or not the pump would last when exposed to alcohol. Oh well, I learn something new every day.
Doesn't the fuel run directly through the windings of an external pump as well? What is the difference, the electric hookup isn't submerged?
