Solenoids tend to give a harsh shift, and are quite difficult to setup. Pneumatic is generally easier to put together from off the shelf components and is quite easy on the gearbox. I have run through my main points in a number of posts.

hey kevin,
i would really like to know why you wold not recommend using a solenoid type gear shifter when compared to pneumatic gear shifter.Also,i would like to know more about how to employ the solenoid shifter in a car.i am new to this field,so bear with me.
