Did anyone record their autocross time during the event and then check the final results? EDS added a second and one cone to the U of I score and basically treated us like liers when we asked them about it. We had the whole thing on video and they would not look at it. I hear other teams had the same problem. Did anyone else experience this?

When we ran the autoX our first run was clean but the second had two cones and two off courses. EDS accidently added the time penalties to our clean lap which moved us from 40th to 90th in autoX. Only after making a written complaint and having my faculty advisor actually accompany Steve Baum to the EDS booth did they review the issue and to our dismay they actually changed our score and repositioned us in the endurance. The trick in FSAE is to get your faculty advisor to lodge the complaints. They offten treat us like kids...and I quote "Off with you now" was what one of the head judges told me after confronting him and several others about this very problem. Of course the reaction was much different when our advisor went to them. Oh well...I'm done with this gig, hopefully it will improve in the future.

More autocross shenannigans, I see. I would check out the "worst competition ever" post in the competitions section. The list of complaints is long, but this is one of the worst I've heard yet.

Our 2nd run was recorded by EDS as having 2 off courses. However, the video showed that they were clean. After filing the protest and showing the 2 different perspectives of video they agreed and gave us the correct time.

Although EDS is a sponsor for the event, but it doesn't mean I won't criticize them for all the autocross timing errors. Well EDS, you can suck a big fat one. This reflects the same attitude that they shown to us and other teams at the event. A big FAT one.

The one thing i can say about is what they tell us. Think about the criteria you want, don't just use a part because someone is giving it for free!!!! It may not always be the best solution
