Are only splined shafts compatible with the torsen differetial (university special). Torsen site says "As most teams do not use this spline, the data was omitted from the 012000 drawing."

They are talking about the splined section on the outer part of the diff where you could actually drive it with a spline instead of a chain but thats for using it as a center diff in cars, thats why its not givin.

It is possible according to Torsen's website that you can drill holes in the diff's housing and mount your sprocket directly off that instead of using the large spline to drive the diff.

I have designed a static housing for this year that uses the large spline to drive the diff as this appeared easier than designing a split housing and having to seal along the sprocket.

The data for the large spline is available off Torsen's website. As for the output splines; the data for them is included on the plans that come with the diff and because the Uni Special is based around the center diff of an Audi Quattro the output splines are the same hence you can either get the axels from an Audi and machine them to suit your design or you can use the spline data and get some new axels cut.
