All,

I'm curious to find out how people were able to get some of the properties required by LS-DYNA for Aluminum Honeycomb.

I've been looking into applying *MAT_126 (*MAT_MODIFIED_HONEYCOMB) and it has a list of properties that I can't find the values for. I contacted hexcel and the individuals there don't believe they have the properties either.

Can someone possibly guide me in the right direction to finding these material properties? It would truly be appreciated.

Thank you,

your gonna need the orthotropic data, i would say look for published papers. There are a lot of ppl who have already done this analysis, look mostly into rail road impact attenuators, by the way it will be easiest to do if you use command interface and not the gui with ls dyna. lstc.com, dynalook.com, can give you some help as well.

The data you are looking for are very hard to find in the literature because they come from tests and they are not public. Anyway, I found a public paper you can find interesting adn it shows some material data you can use in your model. Here the link:
http://www.dynalook.com/documents/8th_International_ls-dyna/14-4.pdf

I hope this help!
