How did your team go about getting a trailer for transportation? Did your school provide one? Are there any "FSAE friendly" trailer companies out there? We have been forced to throw money away to U-Haul the past couple years...

Thanks!

You may or may not take me seriously as I haven't done it myself... build one yourselves!!! UtilityTrailerKit.com (http://www.utilitytrailerkit.com/)
It may not be the solution this year, but can be worked on over the summer for next season. It'll come with all the hardware and plans for a basic flat trailer, but I'd say build up... The only problem I could forsee is the big f-glass cap needed to cover it.

Thanks for the suggestion, we had considered it. The only problem is a small trailer like that would only work locally, we need something safer/more robust that can travel 300+ miles no problem.

How about buying one of those Home Depot tailers and enclosing it. Are they large enough? But yeah, it's probably best to just buy some other team's old trailer. Time's better spent working on the car.

look for a local company that will let you borow one. Hell their trailer probably has their logo on it already, who wouldn't love to have their logo drug across america?!

A couple of years ago, our solar car team borowed the trailer that an off campus book store (ecampus.com) sells books out of. They had to remove the wire shelving, but it worked out great!

We were really lucky to get a local company donate most the money for our trailer (it helped that their son was on the team before he transferred). Internet-trailer.com took care of the rest for us. We had the graphics done locally and it turned out really well.
