Hi All,
I thought I should advertize this book as I never seen it mentioned in the Forum. This is the greatest book I have ever seen.
"An introduction to Race Car Engineering" by Warren Rowley.
Demo version of Mitchells suspension software (everything works you just can't save the files) and Warrens oun educational (but very practical) race car simulation software come with the book.

This is 1st out of five book series and I can't wait when Book 2 is out!

This is a MUST!

Thank you
Ted

Hey GTmule - where should I deliver it? http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

In fact I happen two have to copies - one I've bought myself and one was a Christmas gift so I might trade it for some knowledge –advise.

I realize that my post really sounded like commercial advertisement. This is because of my English – it's not my native language. I have to say that I'm not getting ANY money or privileges for advertising the book.
I just thought that I should share information about something very useful. This book really deserves it.
As for the price ... it doesn't even come close to real value!

Thank you
Ted

I know, I looked at the site, and was thinking about getting it, but then It wasn't the 35 bucks I figured it'd be, it was $120. I'd trade any knowledge-advice I may or may not have for this book, or any book. What do ya need to know? http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm going to take your recommendation and order the book Tudor. I have a full version of the Mitchell software. When I saw that Mr. Mitchell was aligned with the book I just had to have it.

GTmule - check your PM's http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Paul,
If you like WinGeo3 you'll be happy to know that there's simulation version of WinGeo3 to be available sometime soon. Mr. Mitchell, W.Rowley and dr. Salinas are working on it. It will read logged data from your car (just like WinGeo premier version can now) and than you'll be able to simulate how changed geometry or any other setup iterations will effect prformance. Of course you need good tire model - data from manufacturer is by far not enough. If it's going to be priced in the same manner as WinGeo than it will be invaluable.

Thank you
Ted

Ted, I PM'ed ya back.

Chuck

The Simulate software already seems to be out, it's on the computers in our lab at school, and seems to be vaguely as you described, thoug I haven't messed with it yet.

This book really is great. The tire chapters are very very well done. They are far easier to follow than Milliken and offer very good information and insight.
