When creating an assembly in ProE each part/subassembly may or may not have a small box, or variation of a box, right before the part/subassembly name. Does anyone know what these mean or what they are called? I just spent 2 hours looking this up online and in ProE's help file and found nothing. Thanks.

Generally, the box means that the part is has some kinematic association. Either it is referenced to a part that has been defined with a kinematic constraint or it may be underconstrained.

Check the first item on the feature tree with that box next to it, if it isn't fully constrained every child of it will also be incompletely constrained.
