Hey guys, I'm having trouble finding a high pressure, low flow rate fuel pump. What do yall run?

There was a couple of posts awhile back on this. Try searching for "ford ranger fuel pump" or something along those lines. We run a pump out of a 1987 Ford Ranger..it's an outboard, +12 V pump. Should be able to pick it up at NAPA or somewhere of the like.

Also, try this, http://fsae.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=763607348&f=125607348&m=2296002302&r=6046060402#6046060402

Hope this helps..

we used the ford ranger pump. Had one lock up right away(dirt?), and had it waranteed. Otherwise it worked fine. You're allowed to run rubber hose (without steel braided covering) to the inlet side, as long as the clamp is a proper fuel line clamp and not the standard cheapy ones.

Have there been many cars with stock motorcycle fuel pumps? Curious...

Last year we had a few problems with the checkvalve on the Ranger pump and spring some how dislodging itself from the pump during installation of one of the fittings....make sure you have this, as you won't get very far without it. Just a silly mistake on our part, but a huge headache until we figured it out...

It's nice b/c it's external and easy to find a good mounting location. Male quick disconnect or posts facilitate quick, easy termination.

The Ford Ranger pump is one that we recommend. We have used it on everything from small displacement bike engines to medium power V-8s. They are reasonably inexpensive and readily available. Just make sure that you get the correct one. The Ranger had two different setups, one with two pumps (lift and high pressure) and a setup with just one pump. If you need to see picture to get the correct one, email me offline.

Does anyone know what the current draw is on that ford ranger fuel pump?
