Plenty of some of the most sophisticated racing engines available.

Re: the original post, Next time design in a plug that will blow out under backfire. Or if you want to be extra ghetto just use a hole and some tape.

It was added to the list for this year after it happened.

We had a carbon intake do that after it got a little warm. Those backfires can cause damage all over the place.

The danger of an intake backfire is one reason most engines don't spark on the first revolution. I did once hear that Cadillac drivers expect their engines to start on the first rev, so they have extra strong bomb-proof intake parts.

We have a pressure release valve located in the plenum to vent a backfire. Works awesomely well, we've heard it go off a few times before and thanked god that we had it!
