Hi everyone,

What's the best way to get shock histograms? Do you just strap an accelerometer to the shock and start driving? Doesn't the speed of the shock depend on its dampness (for lack of a better word)? If so, how do you know how much damping to use when you are making the measurements?

Not fully understanding the design of the car's dynamics, I was thinking of driving the car around with an accelerometer on the damper (set with as little damping as possible), compiling a histogram, and asking the maufacturer of the shock to give me as close to linear damping as possible in the most frequent speed range.

Does any of this make any sense? If not, I'm sorry for wasting valuable time...which is running out.
