View Full Version : RR vs. F4i cam sensor?

I am having trouble getting a strong signal off of the RR cam sensor. I never had a problem with this on our old F4i, so I was wondering what the difference is between the two sensors. The RR cam sensor is only $33 and the F4i is $67, so there had to be some difference, but I can't find anywhere what the difference is and I don't have the F4i anymore to compare. I wonder if the F4i sensor could be shimmed to fit in the RR or if our 2 RR cam sensors are just bad. Extremely weak signal from the cam sensor on the oscilloscope compared to the crank sensor. Engine runs like crap below 4000rpm and above 8000rpm, so I think noise is taking over and overriding the cam sensor. Anyone else experienced this on an RR? I am using the stock cam wheel with 2 teeth cut off, so there is only one hitting per cycle, and the gap between the wheel and the sensor looks fairly close. Thanks and good luck finishing up!
