When do they usually post updated hotel information or are the Auburn Hills/Utica hotels close enough?

I believe that the Auburn Hills/Utica hotels are the ones that are suggested for this year...but unfortunately, they are not that close.

Sterling heights is also very close to Romeo. Sterling Heights is arround 17 mile and Van dyke (GM tech center area) and the proving grounds are like 34 mile and Van Dyke.

In Detroit, Romeo is known as the Edge of the Known World...anything north is just trees.

Auburn Hills isnt ALL that far.. of a drive.. but it sure was nice bein able to get out of bed, sometimes hungover, and just walk over to the paddock.
