I am designing a suspension system using ADAMS/Car. Could anybody please tell me how i can calculate loads acting on wishbones etc using Adams/Car. I need loads in condition such as cornering, breaking and acceleration.
It would be really helpful if anybody could help me thanks in advance!

All you do is perform a "Static Load Analysis." Then fill in the table with the loads you want to apply. I would also suggest you add in your steering model so you can apply the loads throughout a range of wheel angles.

Hey Mike thanks for that. Could you tell me a book where i can find these equations to calculate the static loads. It would be of great help. Thanks

Hopefully you have taken a course in statics?

if you need some tips, reference Tune to Win, or Race Car Vehicle Dynamics. Having tire test data helps a lot as well, as it makes your calculations a lot more meaningful.

Suppose during cornering, i have 230N lateral and 170 vertical force in the inside wheel front axle and 880N lateral and 680 vertical on the outside wheel of front axle...should i just enter these values in the box where it says cornering....and then see the graphs or is there another step...also it says lower and upper bound forces..could you exlain this as well...thanks

The bounds allow the load to change at a rate from lower to upper bound during the simulation. I usually will leave these values the same so the forces are constant. I would also suggest you add values for braking torque and see the impact it has on your results. If you have tire data you might as well do the same for aligning torque and overturning moment.

You can find most of this information through adams help files

I am still a bit confused...which values(from the ones i mentioned in my earlier post) should i input in the 4 static load boxes in Adams car....i have tire data so i can take the aligning torque and overturning moment from there...thanks for the help btw.

Well the box labeled "cornering force" is your lateral force so you would put 880N for the upper and lower bound for the side you desire. If you change the vertical input to "Wheel Vertical Force" you can enter your Normal Forces under "Vertical Force".

Like i said all of this can be found in the help files
