Our 2003 car had removable roll hoop bracing. If you go here, OSU 2003 Formula Car (https://secure.engr.oregonstate.edu/groups/SAE/Formula/Media/2003%20formula%20car.htm) there are some pictures of the car. I'm not sure how well the show the roll hoop though.

The University of Western Australia has used removable roll hoop bracing for the last two years.

I think all 3 of our cars have used it. The design has been exactly as shown in FSAE rules.
