Since I've never been to the competition, I was wondering where I could find a good place to set up a tent... and maybe if there is a shower nearby too, that wouldn't hurt! Do most people just stay in hotels? At $59/room/night I'm sure that isn't a viable option for a lot of teams.

Thanks,
Chris

We stay at the Hilton, which is a bit rich but reasonable if you pack everyone in the way we do. Probably $10-15 per head per night assuming people sleep on the floor and share beds, etc. Some other hotels around the area are cheaper. Given both the weather and the surroundings, camping is probably difficult to arrange within a short driving distance.

In the past we've rented a single room and convinced a sponsor to pick up the tab. But of course with 8 people per room it wouldn't be much to split among teamers. Last year (and this year) our Dean has given us a travel budget and we are staying at the Staybridge in 2003.

Staybridge Suites. A little pricey, however it is a stones throw from the Silverdome, and you can pack and INSANE amount of people into one room. Don't ask how we know.

Yeah, those Staybridge suites are nice. I think we had two rooms for our whole team last year.

We're at the Hilton this year.
