I was wondering who has used Virtual 4-stroke and how long it took to get a model that reflected the performance of the engine with a reasonable ammount of accuracy?

How well did you like the program? Is it easy to get started with?
I'd like to get the model set up before the end of september so we can test out our designs early on and know where we have to direct the design of our intake and exhaust.

Any suggestions about the software would be immensely helpful.

The FSAE Virtual 4-Stroke package comes with an F4 engine modelled. We are running a ZX-6R and just changed any information (valve, bore, stroke, cam, etc.) that was different from the Honda using our service manual. We were told it wouldn't be perfect, but would be pretty good, and it is. Also included is a FSAE tutorial and an optimization package. All very good. Optimum has hooked all the FSAE teams up very well with what they are offering for $100. They deserve a VERY BIG THANK YOU!!!

If you go to optimum-power (http://www.optimum-power.com/main-sim.htm) you should be able to find info about the software and and an E-mail link for more info specifically for FSAE teams at the bottom of the page. But you will need to act quickly, as the offer only lasts until the end of september as far as the paper work that I have says.

We are also running a ZX-6R, did the edited model with just the normal specs changed represent the power output reasonablly acurate or did you have to modify more specific things like in cylinder pressure and temperature?

Thanks for the feedback
