Given that our car is currently being Seyton's sister was curious to find out how many engines you guys have blown up, either this year or the years you've been involved. Hoping the tally ain't going to increase or we'll have no engine for formula student!!!

Think Arlington cemetary for Honda Hurricanes, FZRs, and GSX-Rs. In our 15 years we have definately thinned their ranks at a reasonable rate.

Blew the rings on the R6 motor in our 2001 car. I made the mistake of letting a complete jackass rebuild it, he took forever and upon starting it he ruined the crank.

Well if you will stress an old F3 in bending and torsion :-)
Seriously, you've got a neat car and we hope you get it running for next week.
We're just delighted we got some wet running today. Sod's law dictates that we had british summer time this week and next week will be a nightmare.

2 F4s in 3 years of building our own. Neither was junk but the heads and pistons were. No F4i's yet, though our F4/F4i hybrid is being a little bastard. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

We're pulling peanut-sized chunks of what used to be cast aluminum out of our motor right now...

We seized our connecting rod bearing in the #2 cylinder of our F4I just 15 hours before we were supposed to leave to Michigan. At the same time we destroyed our output shafts out of the differential and broke a clutch actuator rod. It sucked.
