Has anyone one made there own brake balancer? If so could you show me some pics or explain how it works in detail. I have an idea but want a better understanding to know whether I should just go ahead and order them.
Wilwood sells them for about 50 US which seems a bit much for such a small device. Maybe it's a lot more complicated then I realize.

Thanks for any advice,
Shawn

we made our own balancer last year, basically identical to the wilwood one, but, we used a 3/8" rod for the center and managed to bend to beyond functionality while testing our brakes, I would recomend purchasing one because of the machining time. if you do decide to make one, use a hardened 1/2 shaft.

1/2"? I'm pretty sure the Wilwood ones use a 3/8" shaft and they are darned solid.

could be, I know the one we borrowed from another team had a half inch shaft, because we had to cut some of it off with a dremmel because we couldn't bias it far enough since it was hittin our frame http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
