Looks pretty cool, although they are giving themselves way too large of a pat on the back in all of the explanations.
Interestingly, the subframe is made out of the same material as the water pipes in my house.

Wow interesting engine! Rob had the same idea as me - if the chain doesn't clash then rotate the thing 110deg CC and lean your driver back over it. Would be a nice little package should it work.

Brett,
I put it up then took it down. More or less a repeat of what I said a week earlier about the Jawa engine leaned back. Even if they left the engine as is it would still be an improvement over existing engines. Not that I would do it but this is the perfect engine to do a gear drive on. Id still do a Jawa 500 with a CVT though but thats another story.

I just did a quick look through (skimmed it) and I didn't see a weight other than the 112kg for the whole bike. Anyone know how much that little monster weighs?
I have never picked up a wr450 motor either, so any guesses if it's any lighter than a comparable bike motor? According the website they make a 450 and a 550, which is kind of neat. I am hard pressed to believe that your increase in performance over a wr450(or any other similar single) would even come close to the difference in price, but maybe they aren't that expensive.
Just curious if you know any more about it.

KTM ownes a controlling interest in husaberg. KTM did this a few years back to get the HP's that Husabergs make. Before the CRF450's came out, nobody could touch Husaberg motors for four stroke power (including at the time the yZF400's). i'm sure the field is more even now, but the point is husabergs are no slouch. But they used to have a terrible reputation for reliability but with KTM being involved they've fixed most or all of their previous problems.
I wouldn't buy a pre 2004ish husaberg engine but this one seems really neat and if it fits your design goals it's the only one like it.
i'd imagine for this year and next they'd be as expensive as a new KTM525 engine. Even after that, it'd be hard to find one used and all but impossible to find a used one in the US, but like the Aprilla RVX550 engines...if you reallllly want one, you can get it.
