Hey everyone, question:
Anyone using a brake-hat setup to locate floating rotors, do you think it would be possible to mount the rotor directly to the aluminum hat using the buttons (or whatever those things are called)? I was thinking of doing this, but i am not sure if it would hold well, or if it would need to be anodized, etc.
Thanks,
Dave

if I am understanding you correctly, there are at least a few teams that do this same thing. they do this on motorcycles very often. As far as anodizing, I'm not sure. I know that having it hard anodized would help wear on the hat, but it also hurts the aluminum's ability to soak heat from the rotor (because of the much thicker oxide layer).

We have something similar this year. For heat issues, use stainless buttons to insulate the aluminium hat from the disc.
