As per competition rules, the average speed it required to be approximately 35 mph (at least in the US)

As Daniel says, "read the Rules"!! It is right there.
If you want the actual averages, as the organizers have to lay out a track they think will fall in the correct range, and the actual averages may be a little "off", then do some research by looking at some past results and taking the raw time of a team or teams from the Endurance Results and see how long it took them to cover the 2 kms. The results from the US events can be found at:

Thankyou! Sorry Michael I had read the FSAE rule book over and over again but only the technical specification rules, not those for the dynamic events since it didnt seem logical that the rules of a race would specify how fast a car must drive. Got it now though so thankyou

I've just noticed a typo in my previous post, the distance is 22 kms (13.66 miles), not just 2 kms!
