DJ Engineering Services is ideally looking for a second year UK student sourcing a year out on industrial placement as part of their university course.
Although this is a voluntary placement the experience that you would receive would be extensive as students here have to do tasks such as the following:
Manufacture Carbon Fibre composite parts (mainly wings/aerofoils)
Run basic programs on a cnc mill
Run basic programs on a cnc lathe
Ordering of materials
Liaise with customers and deal with new enquiries
If of acceptable ability undertake mechanical work on single seat Hillclimb cars
Undertake research for new products and manufacturing techniques
If of acceptable standard design parts on Pro engineer CAD software
In addition to this students are encouraged to attend the National Hillclimb events to support the competing DJ racecars on a voluntary basis.
We now have ex students at many of the F1 teams and many high profile motorsport companies so prospects are excellent as we are known by many of the big companies which help our students secure jobs with them upon graduation.
