Thread: Structural Analysis Positions in San Diego, CA

    Our company is expanding and we're looking to hire some more good people. There's currently two FSAE alums here, and we'd like some more. Experience with CAD/CAE software would be helpful, especially I-DEAS.

    Structural Analysis Engineer

    Typical applications include launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, optical systems, amusement park rides, and electromechanical systems. Additional responsibilities may include solving problems in acoustics, flutter, thermal and fluid analysis, mechanical/structural design, optimization, and kinematics.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    "¢ Perform advanced engineering analysis in the areas of structural dynamics, stress analysis, composite analysis, thermal analysis, opto-mechanical analysis, and electro-mechanical analysis. Project work has emphasis on solving problems in using advanced CAD/CAE software.
    "¢Write proposals, technical reports and papers.
    "¢Provide results to clients that satisfy quality, cost, timing and other project specifications
    "¢Give oral presentations to clients.

    Qualifications:
    "¢BS or MS in Mechanical, Structural or Aerospace engineering or equivalent with excellent academic record.
    "¢Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
    "¢Experience with CAD/CAE software tools desired.
    "¢Self-starting and able to work well with others
    "¢Willingness to travel and work at customer sites a plus.
    "¢Position requires U.S. citizenship or possession of a U.S. permanent resident alien visa (green card), in order to be eligible to access US government/DoD classified facilities.
