Thread: calculate helmholtz

    Iam designing intake system ,but I don't kown how to use helmholtz equation .though I try to solve the problem on google ,I found nothing .so ,I am thirsty for your help .thanks a lot .

    May I ask why you're interested in Helmholtz theory for your FSAE car intake? Be sure to compare what it offers to that of the other intake tuning theories.

    Check out some of the bass reflex loudspeaker design info that uses a port tuned by helmholtz resonance.

    He probably means in the case of using it to connect a MAP sensor to the plenum. Not sure. Also, nice meme choice.

    All sorts of possibilities.
    How about just bolting a throttle body onto a plenum ?
    If you work it out, even a really short air column like that can end up having a surprisingly low natural resonant frequency in Helmholtz mode.
