Thread: Single rear brake on Drexler LSD

  1. #1
    Hello everybody,
I'm a member of Unical Reparto Corse Team from University of Calabria, Italy.
We are thinking to use a single Brake mounted on the LSD Drexler V1, but we are not sure that drexler's box can support it. We want to link the brake with a flange like one for the crown wheel.
Has someone used the same solution?

Well if you are using Drexler's products, then you must have their CAD models? Just run some FEA on it!

I'm sure its been done, but would that be a problem putting the rotor on the diff instead of the wheels? Just throwing a question out there.

    Thank you for your answer,
the problem is not to run some FEA with the brake disk instead of the wheel, but if is possible to mount 2 flanges on both side. We don't have the diff only some CAD models, and so we don't know if the flange could be mounted directly on the diff box, because the other side of the diff is different from the one for the wheel.

It can be done pretty easily. You can see what we did in this picture. We bolted a flange onto the diff using the stock assembly holes with longer bolts and didn't have any issues whatsoever.

    Cole I have another question...
    Which engine do you use?

Somebody have the Drexler diff with a 2 cylinder engine? the power is enough to make it work?

I've sent you a private message yesterday.
