Thread: Darmstadt's delta2009 damaged in fire accident - driver unharmed

  1. #1
We sadly have to report that our 2009 car took fire in yesterdays testing session during an endurance simulation.
Thankfully nobody was harmed as the driver was able to eject rapidly from the car.
Although the fire was stopped quickly thanks to a fast reaction of our safety team the delta was damaged in several areas.

The whole team is now working very had to ensure a start in Hockenheim at FSG.
Keep your fingers crossed that we'll make it!
The suffered setback is even harder to cope with as the car was blisteringly fast during the whole week.
The official statement with a photograph can be seen here:

Glad nobody was hurt - do you know the cause yet?

Whatever happens make sure you bring the car to FSG, whether finished or not!

Reason to have full safety gear whenever the car is running! Glad no one was hurt.

I'll second that. I see way too many pictures of teams practicing without firesuits.
