Thread: Racing trade shows to attend

  1. #1
Winter is the season for motorsports industry related trade shows. These events can be valuable resources for teams. It is an opportunity to seek out new sources of supply, to develop relationships with new suppliers, to maintain existing relationships, and to promote your team and the competitions in general. Most are very open to allowing attendance by team representatives. There are teams that are now actually exhibiting at many of these shows.
Below is a list of shows I would recommend, and will be attending as part of the Aurora Bearing exhibit personnel.

I hope to see you at one of the following upcoming trade shows and exhibitions:

SEMA: Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, Oct 30 - Nov 2, 2012. Booth 20557

Professional MotorSport World Expo: Cologne Messe, Cologne, Germany, Nov. 13 – 15, 2012. Exhibiting in conjunction with Getecno SRL. Stand 6042

    Hi John,

I second those. We will be displaying and attending many of those as well.

I would also add another the the list which caters to the motorcycle and Powersports industry. This is the Dealer Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana.

We will be having another Collegiate Roadshow at the Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis, on Saturday, December 8th, in conjunction with the International Motorsports Industry Show (IMIS) .

I will post the speakers, topics and how to register when I can spare a few more minutes to put the whole post together.

I was about to say that I was happy to see a team (USF) at PRI last year. I stopped by and chatted with them, discussing some of the fundamental issues of a turbocharged single...which they had-had issues with.

I might make it to PRI this year. I have my credentials all all but don't know if I'll have the time. It is always good to talk with the sponsors face to face and keep them happy.

We will be at the Pittsburgh Auto Show, haha. PRI would be pretty cool to go to.

Don't discount the value of local shows. They are great exposure. Too many cars sit in shops when they could be generating awareness for a team.

Just finished the PMW show. With out listing specific teams, there were quite a few German team representatives visiting, as well as a few from other countries as well.
As a slight incentive to those able to attend Autosport, or those exhibiting, we plan to have a Deltawing show car on display at the show.Hopefully a project represntative will be on hand as well.

It's Racing Trade Show Season again. As a reminder, here is a list of shows that should be consider, and that Aurora Bearing will be exhibiting in:

SEMA: Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, Oct. 31- Nov. 3 2017.
    http://www.semashow.com
Booth 23323. In addition, a representative will be at the Student Career Day, Oct. 30.

Professional MotorSport World Expo: Cologne Messe, Cologne, Germany, Nov. 15 - 17, 2017. Exhibiting in conjunction with Getecno SRL.

    Stand 6054

Performance Racing Industry: Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis Indiana, Dec 7 - 9, 2017.

    Both 2225
A Representative will be at Student Career Day, Dec. 8

Autosport International – The Racing Car Show: NEC, Birmingham, UK. January 11 -12 (trade), 13 - 14 (public), 2018. Stand 8330
    http://www.autosportinternational.com/public/

Race & Performance Expo: Schaumburg Convention Center, Schaumberg, Il, February 24 - 25, 2018
    http://www.rpexpo.com/

Each show has different attendance and registration requirements, but i can say they have all welcomed student attendance. Visit each show web site, and communicate professionally.
As noted, both SEMA and PRI are putting on Career Day events. Info will be found on the show websites.

For Autosport, Thursday and Friday, the Trade Days, include the Autosport Engineering show as well.

I know that many suppliers and individuals involved with all the various competitions will be at the show as exhibitors. In addition, there are sure to be teams represented either as
exhibitors, or in conjunction with supply partners.

Personally, i look forward to meeting participants and alumnus!

    On a more practical note

Testing Expo 2017 October 24, 25, 26 2017 at Suburban Showplace, Novi, Mi. Plenty of stuff here to acquire lab and roadway data to test your car, your design and your engineering skills.

Claude will be giving a presentation about "Objective and subjective tests correlation for a four-wheel steering vehicle" on Tuesday the 25th at 10 a.m.

Maybe somebody will pick up on this and test a FSAE car and dare to compare it with simulation predictions.
