Thread: Detroit Section FSAE Workshop

  1. #1
This is for all FSAE, F Student and Formula Hybrid teams, not only those within driving distance of Detroit (see below).

For the 11th year, the SAE Detroit Section will be hosting its eleventh Formula SAE Workshop at the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus on Saturday, October 27th.

Information can be found on the SAE Detroit Section web site at:
    http :// www. sae-detroit.org/wp-content/uploads/New-12-FSAE-Invite.pdf

Registration will open at 9.00 am and the presentations start at 9.30 am. The presentations will include 2013 Rules Changes, the Presentation, Cost and Design Events, Sponsorship and Team Organization. The presenters include Tony Lyscio, the Chief Design Judge at FSAE Michigan. The day will end with a general Q & A and discussion around FSAE vehicles that teams are encouraged to bring.

There will also be representatives from SolidWorks, Mechanical Simulation Corp. (CarSim), VR3 Engineering Ltd. (Cartesian Tubes) and Kaz Technologies on hand to demonstrate and discuss their products.

Although on site participation is encouraged and more beneficial, there will be a Webex hook-up for teams for whom the distance is too far. (You cannot meet the suppliers, see the cars, or participate in the drawing if you are not there in person!) There will be a charge to join the Workshop via Webex. The charge is $20 per registration.

There will also be a separate, side meeting for about an hour to an hour and a half, for Faculty Advisors to discuss their problems and concerns. So bring your FA along too.

To register, including those who wish to join via Webex, go to:

This was a great event last year. We're gathering as many people (especially Freshman) to attend this. Definitely an event that a newbie MUST attend.

    Adam,
There will be a side meeting for Faculty Advisors. So please bring him along too. Is it still Dr. Hoff?
