Thread: Torsen Splines

  1. #1
Does anyone have a CAD drawing of the spline profile for the torsen? Need to get the shafts to the EDM shop soon... AutoCAD would be best, but I'll work with whatever I can get.

How about checking out http://www.torsen.com and clicking on the FSAE FAQ section. The gear spline data is here:

No autocad profiles, but these specs define the splines.

I found that page, but the 27.5 deg pressure angle is throwing me off. None of the information I've is for this angle. Seems someone has said that a 30 deg angle can be made to work, but would like to get it right.

I called to Torsen just before.
And I checked the information in Torsen's website is wrong.
The spline pressure angle of 012000 is 34 deg.
They told me they should chage the data in their website.
But I don't know when they will change it.

Well, Torsen removed the 27.5deg pressure angle from their page, but didn't replace it with anything. Once I hear from them to validate the correct angle, will draw one up and send it your way.

Is anybody able to confirm what the pressure angle is for the Torsen university special?
