FSAE.com forum is a decade old today. First post in Open FSAE Discussion dates back to September 12, 2002.
Thanks to all those who worked to set this forum up, and the all the users who share experience, knowledge and time!

Doesn't time fly when you are having fun?

Yes, time is really really short..

Some of us have been involved since Formula came north to Lawrence Tech in 1986. That makes it 26 years. And I know of 2 people who have been involved 5 or 6 years longer. The whole Formula community owes them both a great deal of thanks. Many people can guess one of them, but who is the second? (Those with grey hairs should not try to answer!! Let's see if the students realize who they should thank.)

PS. There is no prize for guessing correctly!

Not first. But close. User profile founded Sept. 27, 2002.

Will be dropping by a bit more in recent months too - my previous research into FSAE team dynamics (which got railroaded a few years back) is back on in a new location, and looking forward to involving the FSAE.com community in it. Stay tuned.

Nowhere near first - join date June 17 2003

Could be closer to first if we were ranking cumulative word count, though

September 12th 2002. But took quite a while before I started posting, spent a lot of time reading and learning. Just as it was then the accumulated knowledge of the forum posters is quite impressive.

Congrats guys on 10 years down.
What a great resource and enabler this has been to competition as a whole and the teams that are smart enough to learn from history, and contribute to our ever expanding knowledge of these funny little cars.

It's lovely to have an indelible digital record of how one has (mis?)spent their youth!

You may be winning total word count Geoff, but I am pretty sure I have posted the words "wings", "aero" and "downforce" more than anyone else!

Nice to see that aero is no longer a dirty word, and perhaps even flavour of the moment?
Need a new crusade for the coming decade.

Oh I already have one... Point Simulation!
That dreaded plague on our innocent and naive "design" competition.
Oh well, here we go again!
    Regards,

    Scott Wordley
