The University of Wollongong team dominated the FSAE-Australia event in Melbourne this weekend.
Their new car won design, acceleration, autocross, endurance and fuel economy, and were second in skidpan. No other team came close.
I do not have the full results, but will post when I can get them.
Best of the visitors was RIT who didn't make the finals in design which shows the level of the local cars.
The quality in Australia is now at least as good as the best in the US and the UK, and all this after only three years.
Reliability was way above accepted levels, with only a couple of catastrophic failures.
The Japanese car from Tokyo Denki University might just start a whole new trend when it comes to Pontiac in May. This tiny single cylinder car honked around all day, but lack of development and unskilled drivers kept them off the ultimate pace. The best single we have ever seen.
When I get more news from Australia I will post the results here.
