Yoshimura R&D is looking for a mechanical engineer, possibly two.
Requirements: BSME or equivalent (BSEE considered). Must be proficient with AutoCAD MDT5/6 or Solidworks. Must be capable of carrying a product from conception to production, including (but not limited to) generating bills of materials, instructions (CorelDraw 10), and training the sales staff to handle light technical support. Must be able to handle light fabrication using a lathe, mill, shear, and sheet metal bending equipment.
Desired skills: Welding (TIG/MIG), reasonable mechanical ability (eg: changing cams in a motorcycle engine), an understanding of the chassis and engine dynamics of a motorcycle. THE ABILITY TO MAKE A FUEL/SPARK MAP USING A LOAD CONTROL DYNO IS A BIG PLUS.
This position is in the R&D department at Yoshimura. There is minimal involvement with the race team. Most projects will involve products for retail or tooling.
