2009 SCCA Solo Nationals

Just a reminder so everyone can get it on their calendars, SCCA Solo Nationals are Sept. 4th-11th (FSAE competing on the 8th and 9th), in Lincoln NE this year. We haven't gone in a couple years, but Lincoln is practically in our back yard (about an hour from where I grew up!), so I'm pretty stoked. I haven't been to Lincoln Airpark yet, but I hear it's fast. We're planning on bringing our '07 and '09 cars.

Also, I'm now currently debating whether or not ISU will be able to make a showing, registration is fairly expensive (not to mention tires, etc.).

Western Michigan University is attending; we just got back from the divisional in Peru this weekend. I know it’s a lot of money, but it truly is a blast. I went last year and ran F125 and not only had a great time, but got to talk to several people that were interested in helping out Formula SAE.

An alumni and myself are driving FSAE class, and Sarah Gerbig is driving the lady's class. So far she is looking uncontested so come on, I know there has to be a few more lady's out there to compete against!

If anyone is coming from between Michigan and Nebraska and isn’t to far out of the way, we can probably work out shared travel arrangements, just depends on which trailer we get access to. Also, we plan to stay onsite, we did this last year and besides the crazy winds it worked well.

The .001 finish is unbelievable. Talk about a disappointing 2nd place finish, losing by a nose, literally.

Maybe some time in the near future I'll be able to make it out there.

Catching A-mod has been a dream in the making. Too bad the Bowlands weren't there.

Also, the drying course conditions made for all the difference in the world on the second day. Nick was super fast and as a single driver car.

I think we calculated at the speeds we were running, the margin for victory was less than an inch.
