As a Driveline Test Technician, you will be responsible for the Assembly & Disassembly of both prototype and production axles, gearboxes and transmissions per Engineering Specification. You will be involved in the set-up, monitoring and teardown of driveline test stands used for physical evaluation of performance and durability of driveline components. You will work in a cross-functional environment; interfacing regularly with Test Engineering, Design Engineering, Materials Engineering in support of New Product Development as well as Current Product Problem Resolution.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assembly & Disassembly per engineering specification of complex drivelines including gearboxes, axles and transmissions for Ag and Construction Equipment.
  • Mechanical Set-up, Operation, and monitoring of driveline component and integrated vehicle systems tests in laboratory, track or field environments.
  • Connect and verify instrumentation used for data acquisition on driveline tests. Collect data for analysis by test engineers.
  • Interface with test engineers to clearly understand test requirements.
  • Support determining if the component(s) / system(s) under evaluation are operating according to the intended Design criteria. Aiding in diagnosis of any problems to determine and implement corrective action.
  • Follow lab test procedures and processes.


Required Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have experience with the following:
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in a Technical Field with at least:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience/knowledge with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to travel, including internationally; Less than 10%.

The preferred candidate will have experience with the following:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar.
  • Experience with the assembly of heavy machinery axles and transmissions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering documents and assembly drawings.
  • Ability to work within a team environment where responsibilities are routinely shifted to meet changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and recognize issues that need to be escalated.
  • Strong hands-on mechanical skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively in both the lab and in a cross discipline team environment.
  • A Positive, Energetic, "Can-Do" attitude with a Strong Desire to work in the heavy machinery industry.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to conduct technical hands-on mechanical tasks with little supervision.
