IT Technician – Track Side
Penske Racing is looking for a talented IT Technician to work both in shop and track side with our IndyCar and SportsCar race teams. This position requires the IT Technician to travel with the race teams to both testing and race events to ensure proper computer operation and network connectivity so that end users can accomplish daily tasks. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic tools, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level. The IT Technician is also responsible for maintaining and updating related software and computer equipment and in assisting the IT Team with other IT related projects.

Responsibilities:
- Field incoming help requests from end users via telephone, email, and help desk software in a courteous manner.
- Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician.
- Document and record the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
- Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
- Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution.
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
- Performing preventative maintenance – Software & Hardware.
- Develop help sheets, tutorial videos, and frequently asked questions for end users.
- Asset Tracking of IT Inventory and mobile phones.
- Attend and actively participate in regular IT meetings.
- Coordinate with the IT team to meet objectives.
- Analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems.
- Additional duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
- A+ Certification – Required.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree, or 2+ years of comparable work experience.
- Experience supporting HP laptops, Windows 7/8.1/10, Microsoft Office, HP printers.
- Knowledge of Windows Active Directory, Print Services, and systems security.
- Troubleshooting skills for networking including TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
- SQL Express experience a plus.
- Ability to lift 40 plus pounds.
- More than 70% Travel.
- Must be able to Work independently and multi-task.
