Hello FSAE!

Ex-FSAE alum here looking to add some talent to our company.

Cooper Tire & Rubber Company is looking for an experienced automotive product development engineer to join our rapidly growing Original Equipment tire development team as we increase our
emphasis on this part of our business. In this position, you will be expected to provide engineering support for the complete life cycle of OE tire development.
You will be a key member of a high performing team, with significant exposure to upper management and customers. Responsibilities will be broad, timelines will be aggressive.
We need an Engineer who can keep up and who thrives on solving problems and learning.


Job Specific Expectations:

Someone with automotive product development experience with an OEM or Tier I supplier, preferably experienced with a product that directly impacts ride, handling, or NVH (OE Tire development or release experience would be a 100% fit).
Someone with a natural interest in vehicle dynamics and/or NVH. A racing or FSAE background is a good indication that you will enjoy this sort of work.
Able and willing to deep-dive on technical issues. Technical problem solving is a key part of this job.
Familiar with APQP, DFMEA, 6-Sigma, PPAP, VDA6.3.
Highly proficient with computers (Extra credit for Matlab or similar programming skills).
Experienced in product testing and data analysis (Extra credit for experience with vehicle testing for ride, handling, or NVH).
Experienced in Project Management.
Someone who enjoys travelling - Some domestic and international travel will be required.
Someone who thrives on challenge.
Excellent at communication across all levels of the company from manufacturing through Senior Management and Customers.


Basic Requirements:

BS in Engineering
Tire engineering experience required
Original equipment experience preferred
OE tire engineering experience strongly preferred
