Thread: Error in BAMOCAR D3 RS 400-400

    Error in BAMOCAR D3 RS 400-400

    Good day, fellows!

    We are UNAMMotorsports from Mexico. We are the rookie team in Electric Vehicle participating in Lincoln, Nebraska.

    For the competition we are using a Bamocar D3 RS 400 400 as motor controller and the electric motor is EMRAX 208.

    When we activate the enable in Bamocar, it sends a error.

    POWER VOLTAGE: MISSING VOLTAGE SUPPLY

    The controller saves the data we send it, but it does not act when we required.

    We already tried to reset the controller, but we didn't success.

    Anybody had this kind of problem before? How did you solve it?

    LED Code bright red = bad encoder signal error.
    flashing red = too small or missing voltage warning.

    When we turn on the controller, everything is fine.

    When we communicate with RS232 cable from the computer, the error appears.
    The enable is active, so the controller blocks itself and the LED turns on and stay until we deactivate the enable.

    Also there is a high temperature warning from the motor, but the motor is not connected with the controller.

    In case you haven't sorted this out by now, and for people that get here from Google, the issue (when I experienced it) was that the tractive voltage must be applied BEFORE the enable signal.
    When the enable signal is applied, additionally, any errors will latch, so if you experience an error you must disable and then re-enable the drive.
    Additionally, the undervoltage threshold must be set correctly - allowing for noise and measurement fluctuations etc. The easiest way to do this is to apply your minimum voltage to the inverter, read the number from the Monitor tab, then set the threshold to that value minus say 10%

    The high temperature warning is due to the thermistor in the motor not being connected, and should resolve once the motor is connected properly.
