Hey again, Ilmor is seeking a Production Engineer for our Marine Division to work within our design department with a focus on our engine line for MasterCraft Boats;
• 60%: Track and resolve critical issues that arise with existing product currently manufactured at our Mooresville, NC or Plymouth, MI facility. Duties include:
o Validation work on dyno, boat, or test benches.
o Propose cost reduction opportunities for components, assembly tooling, or assembly processes
o Lead both internal and external suppliers to resolve production/product issues
o Lead product quality issue resolution with MasterCraft or any Ilmor customer. This may require on-site resolution with the customer.
o Create assembly documentation as needed.
o Develop and implement validation test plans
o This job will be based out of Plymouth, Michigan with expected travel to be roughly 25%
• 40%: Assist with development and testing of next generation powertrain programs. Responsibilities will include design, testing, fabricating, and overall program management activities. Report out at a director level is to be expected
• Member of Quality Team (ISO 9001-2008)
• Reporting to the Chief Engineer
Required Skill Set:
• Mechanical or Electrical engineering degree required
• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in a related field with a strong focus in manufacturing technology, in particular: casting, machining, sheet metal fabrication and assembly methodology
• Must have CAD capability (Solidworks and Catia V5)
• Powertrain experience or verifiable working knowledge of engines is required.
• DFMEA/PFMEA/DVP&R experience
• Excellent communication skills with a team player mentality
• Proficient in GD&T
• Quality systems experience (ISO 9001) – desired but not required
• A true interest in the marine industry and engine development
• Customer focus is a must
