Thread: FSAE dates

A change like that would toss up lots of our testing and vocation / vacation planning.

Im sure they would have annouced and East/West swap at least one year before the change.

Silverdome would be nice, for the fact that we wouldn't have sleep 45 minutes away from the site.

im pretty sure switching dates would benefit just as many people as it screws up... At this point we (UCSD) are planning on attending FWest only, which means if it were in May we wouldnt be competing with as many cars that have already been through a competition and have had the last month or so to sort out everything that went wrong. It would also make it perfect for us to take a shot at Formula Student if we ran into a little extra cash (wishful thinking...)

as far as the weather, most of California is a little cooler in May than in June, but Fontana's in the middle of the desert so its gonna be hot as hell no matter what.

Univ. of Washington, like many West coast schools are on a quarter system. A switch in dates would put FSAE West during our midterms; instead of the week after finals. And thus: SUCK.

I seem to recall it was more like 80-90 in May in Fontana... as opposed to 100-105 like it was at West this year.

I think the timing isn't great either way, but sometimes life isn't fair.
