Thread: 2013 FSAE Autocross Scoring Formula (D7.8.1)

  1. #1
In the 2013 FSAE Rules, rules D7.6.2 and D7.8.3 state that a team exceeding 125% of the fastest Autocross time will recieve no "performance" points.

In the actual scoring formula (Rule D7.8.1) is says Tmax is 145% of Tmin. This will give a significant point gap (50 points) between cars running 124.9% and 125.1% of Tmin. Is this intentional?

I believe it was discussed to increase T_max in autocross to 145% of T_min to bring it more in line with the endurance scoring, which has always been 145%. I assume that's why the scoring formula states (1.45 x T-min). They probably just forgot to update the wording in the statement prior to the formula. I would assume what the formula says takes precedence over any wording, but I'd ask the Rules Committee to be sure.
