Zac,
Is there any possibility that the D2697 would ever be produced again? If I remember correctly, that tire was axed because it was not REACH compliant and therefore could not be sold in Europe....

Zac,
Is there any possibility that the D2697 would ever be produced again? If I remember correctly, that tire was axed because it was not REACH compliant and therefore could not be sold in Europe....
Oh give me a break with this level playing field BS. Do you really think a 15-20 place team would have swooped in and stolen a victory if the top teams weren't able to set up a full practice track...
For those who haven't heard, Goodyear is producing tires for F-SAE again. Sounds like only 13" for now though.
Not here to provide any benefit to this discussion, just want to drop this off.
Josh,
Don't let anyone (Z) on this forum scare you from pursuing an idea just because they think it's a bad idea..... We ran one piece aluminum rear hub/tripods from 2011 till I graduated in 2014...
It's both.
They changed in 2012 when they expanded out onto the the actual race track from the infield.
But since then they have been very similar, just slight alterations to one or two corners...
If that is actually the case, and officials were DNF'ing cars for hitting the track. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
The first time I went to FSG in 2011 they made a very bold statement during the drivers...
I agree with what Jay said. As someone who cuts and welds stainless steel and a variety of carbon steels on a daily basis, I would highly discourage you from making a frame out of stainless....
As far as the rules are concerned, I can't see anything in the rules prohibiting multiple IC teams from the same university competing at the same time. I know a few years ago the rules strictly said...
Is there a possibility that if these rules are enforced at FSG 2014 they could allow cars that aren't compliant to still compete but with a point penalty as was done at Michigan in 2009 with the...
So you're saying that there is no force from the air acting in the reward direction preventing the wing from rotating forward? Maybe if there was a gale force tail wind and the car was stationary,...
When you're moving out of the house you've lived in for two years and start a pile of "Stuff to return to shop"
Pile consists of but not limited to:
Drill bits
Taps
Car parts
Other team...
But Pat, wouldn't it only be going uphill if the vehicle in question was in Austrauila?? Anywhere else, wouldn't it be going downhill? That is as long as Jupiter is on the opposite side of the Sun...
I asked, and was sent away... </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
I saw them do it in the trailer (so it was several years ago). it probably depends on who you talk to and when/where they are.
Also, there are...
As far as consistency in accel staging is concerned. A few years ago (2010 maybe?) the acceleration stagger actually had a tool(a few 2x4's nailed together) and a painted line on the ground to line...
The problem was that only design finalists were allowed to run then. The rest of us top Auto-X finishers then had significantly different conditions compared to the design finals teams. In 2011 we...
You first have to calculate the viscosity of your brake fluid. To do this you need to know the relative humidity in New Zealand during the month of September, as well as the current temperature of...
Oh cool. Did you have any issues with it? Don't suppose you have any photos? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
No issues, we kept the OEM gasket for the breather and never had problems with oil seeping out...
There are no rules against this. We did this exact damper mounting on our car last year.
It's hard to tell exactly how long the course, but if it's similar to last year I definitely think they should add another passing zone for endurance.
+1 for what axelripper said. You can train a monkey to drive skidpad and acceleration As far as finding endurance and autoX drivers, that shouldn;t be too tough of a task either. IF you have an old...
Something interesting I thought I'd bring up. With such a busy European FS schedule coming up this summer, would any consideration be given to adjusting the competitiveness factor for some of those...
What we have done is weld over the edge of the hole at very low amps not adding filler just to melt the edges of the hole. It's worked well for us, never had any issues with cutting through the...
Markus, why isn't Helsinki signed up for North this year? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

A huge thank you goes out to the University of Toronto guys for hosting a great event. It goes without saying that our team had a blast and can't wait to come back and compete here again next year!
