Might want to think about those backfires. If you spec it for absolute vacuum only, a backfire may crack or explode your plenum.

Maybe there is some sort of restriction in the engine upstream of the oil filter that is causing such high psi. It may cause the engine to not get the oil it needs too.

We got our nosecone cnc on a 4 axis mill out of foam. We then make a mold of fiberglass off of that. Then use the mold to make our carbon fiber nosecone. You can do the same with the sidepods.
