Uprights are cnc from mag.
hi all
i'm from the full mag frame team down in Israel,we still have a way to go but we build our frame and starting to assemble the car.
you can see it here,go to Gallery....
hi all
I agree with Frank and think analysin one solid body is better than solving the assembly, especialy if the upright is what you are really testing.
remember that those fine elements programs...
thnkes Denny
your explanation was clear to me.
ok so lets say i'm using rodends on the in board a-arms,we have a 10 mm (i think 3/8") thread, how long shuld the thread be inside the a-arms,do you...
hi Jason
I tried it out but didn't really succeded.
on what plane do you sketch the push rod?
how do you make sure your push rod connection to the lower a-arms is fixed?
thanks Jason
i'll give it a go and compare it with my program.
hey guys
what is the distance of your rod end inside the A-arms?
last year team bought 40 rod ends which i beleive has too short thread.
and can please someone explain to me the difference...
hey
do you use the models in solid as only lines or as a complete bodies and moving them on the Assembly ?
i'm unaware of an option of moving just lines pls enlight me.

did you use a big nut at the end?
or a different method.
hi
we got vanilla R shocks by fox(without the gas container) and without spherical bearing at the end, where it attached to the frame.
can we buy this specific spherical bearing and assembel it...
thanks denny
but i didn't understand how you calculated my steering ratio without me giving you the angle of the wheels and the angle of my steering wheel that creates it?but you are close we...
hi all
we are a first year team so no experience.
my question is what is your distance between the outboard tie rod on the upright to the wheel center(horizental distance only)?
I designed it to...

thats expalins it,we have fox shocks without those bearings.
from the pictures you cant see the bearing.
hi
i can see most teams use spherical rodends on the inboard a-arms ,where the pivot for those is vertically,i'm considering not using a bearing on the inboard, just a bushing and to place the pivot...

hi
maybe it's too obvious to see but i can't understand how this particular rocker mechanisem works.
using soildworks building the assembly of the mechanism shows that if the rocker pivot and the...
hi
I think I understand your problem and has encountered it myself.
you set your hardpoints, and then you run a simulation, your question is are those hard points change according to car...
hi
i'm designing our suspension, and as other have said not so friendly, even so i managed in a few weeks to build a pretty good model, using the fsae template and run the simulation to receive...

I unerstood total load transfer...

did you use a steel sleeve inserted into the aluminum upright to prevent the creation of freedom between...
I understand (I hope i do...) that you can create increasing wheel rate with only mounting the shock in an angle, mounting it this way also brings them outboard which is good because you get air...
thanks for the reply
but i am still confused about the things i need to do first.
1.you pick a tire and a rim.
2.you design your upright.
and then what should i design first?
