Looking for the black smoke to get an F4i running. Don't have a huge preference stock or not, just as long as it works.
Looking to buy a set of 13" wheels, centerlocking and preferably single-piece. Let me know what you've got.
Thanks
anyone know if there is live audio of autocross?
simulation? what simulation?
'Jacking' forces have no effect on tire loading....
If we are being pedantic, wouldn't we say that jacking forces will effect tire loading, because of the resulting movement of the CG?
...
Pushing forward with the pedantics, because I feel like this is something that is generally misunderstood (not implying by you, but by many)
'Jacking' forces have no effect on tire loading. Think...
Don't forget about the width of the tire, assuming he is measuring track width from the center of the tire. for a 7" wide tire that adds 1.75" to the cg height limit(assuming 2g limit)
Maybe...
Haha that is what I get for shutting my brain off why I try to stir the pot. Relative!=absolute. Oh well
Not even worth editing at this point...the damage is done
Bob,
I fixed some weird formatting issues in your post here
Thanks
in the handbook it says:
~9:00 p.m.
Design Finalist announced online www.sae.org and www.fsae.com
about to break my f5 key

why do the holes need to be so close together?
make a new plate with them further apart
And what happens if you lose brake line pressure?
I'll give you a hint, it is not very difficult to fully travel the pedal
Another thing that has never happened twice before to someone I know,...
Maybe i'm missing something....
you guys do realize that certain parts on the car must move in order for it to work right?
hopefully you haven't also decided to route your electronics harness...
"I don't need to learn this stuff because I can just have the computer do it"
I think you need to meet our friend Poisson
Agreed with exFSAE, this would be a great question for a professor. Try...
How different are they?
I would not expect them to be exactly the same.
Think about the effect end constraints have on buckling...is a fixed end the same as a free end?
Instead of buttons, how about a steering wheel that is free to translate in the y direction. push the wheel to left points the rear wheels to the left, pushing it to the right points the rear wheels...
Expanding on this, consider what happens due to the engine torque. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
You guys ever draw a FBD?
hah, by the sounds of it they will keep registration open longer than scheduled anyways so you guys don't have to worry much
...Sorry Doug....I had to poke my stick
How do your wishbones attach to your upright? If they are welded to your upright then it sounds like these boundary conditions are correct.
If you use spherical bearings (or rod ends) you may...
Tobias,
Where is the line drawn? Sitting at the start of the accel run the typical fsae car will rev its engine up to a couple thousand rpm, storing kinetic energy in the crankshaft, engine flywheel...
and what if it is reasonable? does that make it correct?
Be confident in your approach and you can be confident in your solution
Before you ditch it, remember that the second u-joint may not only be offering added angle allowance
Think about why we do not refer to u-joints as 'CV' joints
