Hi Guys,
I'm currently working for a company based in Dubai that makes a lot of architectural composites with decorative finishes. The companies website is pct.ae
The company is currently...
@Nath, I considered doing exactly that for our car in 2010 but assumed that they would not pass a car that did that through tech inspection on the basis of the 'intent of the rule' rule...
@...
Yes
Lots. The last time we bought them was 08 and from memory it was about £90 for each coupling.
All I can say Matt is screw you!
I really could have done with some more sleep last night to make the day at work a whole lot less painful! But hey there we go FSAE still stealing my sleep a year...
Whichever competition you took the track from?
Double wishbone suspension only works with pull rods because otherwise the aero load will multiply by pi into your lower control arm and the bending load induced by you sticking your pushrods halfway...
I think the free papers are attached to a place at a US competition. You may well find that your university gives you free access to SAE papers through your library.
I would also recommend...
Good luck!
In 08 we couldn't find one anywhere so we ended up colour printing a picture of one and putting clear contact over it. It was clear, functional and the tech inspectors didn't question it.
Does that IA fail by forming distinct plastic hinges or do you still get a continuous progressive failure even with such steeply angled side sections?
Awesome video though, I certainly watched the...
I assume you're asking because you have realized that they are equivalent. Personally I put in the energy absorbed and a line at 7.35kJ to signify the pass point.
Generally I wouldn't stress too...
I have posted a direct link that is currently being moderated...
If you are in a hurry though you can go to the motec com au website -> downloads ->seminar notes -> 'FSAE Day 3 Advanced' Page 18...

And that (Jersey Tom) would commonly be known as gloating http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
And welcome to the guy whose most common comment last year was "semi serious idea but ..."
Thanks for the response Matt. I'm particularly interested by the response time factor that you quote. It would be interesting to know exactly what the sensor difference is, and if it's enough to...
I really don't understand the purpose of advertising this product to FSAE teams, it seems to me to be designed for carburetted cars, very few of which exist in FSAE. Everybody running fuel injection...
There's a really long and quality thread about a couple of teams that tried 4wd on here from about 2003. Alternatively you could just look at the fact that they tried it and gave up on it and take...
Thanks for that Wesley, good to know we aren't the only ones finding it fairly touchy.
One other random note with the ape clutch is that the first guy we had working on it had done a summer...
We have used a cable operated hand clutch for as long as I have been in the team. The weight is absolutely no issue.
On a related note we switched to the sxv550 this year from r6's, without...
1. This has been discussed numerous times before so I'm sure a search would quickly find the answer.
2. Posting a link will take ages, I've posted a couple of times in threads that will give you...
I assume the intent of the rule is to force teams to test the impact attenuator on a representative section of the front of their car. I'm not quite sure why the rules committee wouldn't just say...
