My understanding after 3 comps in Detroit is that less than half the cars finish endurance, usually closer to only a quarter of them. Might it be the same at FSAE-A?

I believe a european team (german maybe?) has a very comprehensive list already that you can ask to link to. I think it was approaching 300 entries. Do a search.
Our team has used that 530 res. bullet cam hooked to a Canon camcorder. Of note, not every camcorder has the analog input capability for such a setup. The consumer level Canons and Sonys have it,...
I'd like the read as well.

Do you mean just Formula Student? or FSAE America too?
Thank you UTA, Dr. Woods, and DFW SCCA and all those in attendance. It was a great weekend, overall I think the cars lasted longer and the weather was more bearable than last year, making for a...
There was a team at 2005 who did their front uprights with titanium deposition, wasn't there?

quote:
<div...
The Cal Speedway, while the only real speedway I've been to, I thought was really nice when the GTLive event was held there.
I gotta say the Ontario Airport there was kind of surreal to come off...
It's not specifically in the rules. However, neither is it in the rules not to use nylon locknuts in any caliper mount (though it makes sense). It's an inspector's call, and no inspector is the same...
Great list!
The website for University of New Mexico (Albuquerque, NM, USA) is now "http://www.unm.edu/~fsae" and we prefer the name LOBOMotorsports.
Hah! I was wrong. I just watched the video of our Presentation and we were projecting on a blank wall.
There will be a wall at least. I believe there was a screen when we presented.
The smart plan is to provide all your own equipment. Do not rely on the availability or the compatibility of what they might provide. Though it's been common for a couple teams to lend a projector...
They "teach" Pro/E Wildfire here. However, the team uses Solidworks. All the modeling is done on PC's we have in a corner of our lab. Some FEA is done in the department's computer pod which is...
I have not read to rule in a while either, but I thought it was worded something like "altering the tire is not allowed."
And I think a change in performance capabilities counts as altered.

I'm curious about the shift lever. It seems like it only clutches when you push the lever (Assuming the top cable is the clutch). Is that right?
I stand corrected.

Alot of the aero that's illegal in other forms of formula racing is allowed in FSAE. So you can indeed use inverted wings where ever you like.
Other teams that have aero include:
UM Rolla...
