  1. Sources of Compliance

Good points. My feeling is that once a few spindle and bearing sets are tested (you don't need a K&C machine to do this, just a fixture) a common stiffness
in camber and steer will address all the...
  2. The REAL Findings:

The best news from it is that Honda UK has an Anthony Best Dynamics SPMM (K&C) machine which was used to get FSAE car data. So now a strategy could be to beg, borrow, or steal some results from...

    K & C Testing Issues

The Fy input at "Zero Offset" I presume to mean that the force is applied at the wheel plate directly below the spindle center point at "the Ground"

    Fit Quality:

I'm not seeing a huge range of fit quality if the transfer function in Bode Form are used. Yes the resulting damping and frequency parameters that you would obtain will be different.

    Nice job !

For a first round experiment, this looks very good ! First suggestion would be to improve/reduce speed variation. With constant speed, you eliminate a very important state variable.

The general rule is that there is actually one ONE steering gear mount. This mount is used to deliver the prescribed transmissibility, understeer, durability and crash barrier intrusion.

    Rack 'em Up

Here are my thoughts based on 40 years in the industry:

Weight: sure. Some will believe the sprung C.G. location will benefit.

Ratio: There is no such thing as a 'steer ratio' with a rack &...
