I don't know if anybody has already posted this but i stumbled across the JSAE website.

http://www.jsae.or.jp/formula/en/index.html

It has some videos of the cars and a bit of info about the competition.

Are any overseas teams planning on going to JSAE?

I thought UTA was planning on going. Right now there are 13 teams signed up so I don't see why they'd need to start limiting...

I met a few of the Sophia racing guys at Big Buck and traded a polo.

Yes, UTA is registered. Leeds and Korea are the other two international teams.

Anybody have any news from the competition? Any results?
I'm guessing that Erick K from UTA would have done well in the autocross. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

UTA won the Competition! Supposedly Erick was 3 sec. faster than anyone else in the autocross. The results are posted at the website above.

Congrats to UTA and Erick! A little less disappointing than Detroit this year, I bet http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Denny,

Yeah, just a little. We actually won a number of other awards, but we have to wait on some translation. We won Design, Autocross, Endurance, and the overall event.

We were actually in the midst of crating the car back up to get it home in time for nationals next week during the awards "ceremony" so we missed out on what some of the awards were actually for.

The most notable, and humbling award, we received was from the Japanese Minister of Industry. It was a traditional Japanese award honoring the winner of the event. UTA was quite honored in receiving this award.

Denny, hope to see you at nationals again this year. We have a number of stories to share!!!

Erick,
We aren't coming to Nationals this year, the team is rebuilding and I'm trying to rebuild the rest of my life outside of FSAE... http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Sorry I won't be there to drive and talk with you guys, and to keep UTA from taking all the trophies... http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Have a good time,
-Denny

Denny,

Sorry to hear that man. Are you going to be involved with SAE next year? Keep in touch via email if you can. By the way, I wasn't aware of a life outside of FSAE... http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Good luck Denny!
