Our team is trying to find any air fields, large lots, or otherwise suitable testing locations in the Massachusetts area. Are there any local teams that know of any resources to contact?

We're planning on doing some SCCA Solo autocrosses at Devens but it would be great to have another place to test also. Boston/Cambridge is a hard place to find anywhere with significant blacktop we can use...

Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't have any legitimate locations, but I've spent several nights driving our car in big parking lots at shopping centers in the area over Thanksgiving break, etc. South Shore Plaza in Braintree will have security hassle you after a while, but I've never had a problem at Derby Street shopping center in Hingham.

If you actually find anywhere legitimate, please post it because I'm planning on doing some summer testing in the area.

Good luck.

I know NHIS just north of Concord, NH are friendly to FSAE teams. The Formula Hybrid comp is taking place there some time soon. We went driving at the parking lots.

I was just randomly searching the Boston area for bigger parking lots, found this:

Alex,

Our school is split ~60/40 commuter/resident for the student body, so UML has some pretty big parking lots. We'd love to invite you out to compare cars, methodologies, etc. It'd only be about 45 minutes (give or take, depending on the lovely Route 3 traffic) for you to travel up here. If you want, shoot me an email and I'll talk to the University Police and other higher-ups to get it cleared.

South Campus Lot:

North Campus Lot:

Go to the NE Region of SCCA to get a list of available (recommened) sites. Its an insurance thing, too, you know....
